During the day, the most popular spot is the extensive and well-trafficked Magaluf Beach, where you can practice aquatic sports in addition to swimming and sunbathing.
The town of Magaluf has its origins in the Cas Saboners estate. The first hotel, Hotel Atlántic, was built in 1959. It was during the 1960s when most of the hotels and apartments were constructed, visually striking buildings facing the sea, without any exhaustive planning, an example of what is now called “Balearicization”, a term used to describe rapid and disorganized urban development when developing tourism centers.

Other space-creating initiatives are also taking place, consisting of demolishing obsolete hotels and buildings in order to generate more open public spaces.
